This powerful threefold educational program includes:
1. Information - We will educate you with 12 Family Recovery Principles presented through weekly live calls, a workbook, and an online archive of over 120 hours of lessons, expert interviews, discussions, recovering speakers and recovering families. All calls are recorded for you to access at any time.
2. Transformation - Your family receives tools to put that information into practice through the 7 Steps to BALM. These steps will empower you to effectively communicate with your loved one using the Be A Loving Mirror method.
3. Support - Participate in weekly group coaching calls. Here is where families go to get their questions answered, receive support, and hear how others are coping with the challenges of a loved one's struggles with substance use disorder and other addictions.
Participation in the BALM includes up to four (4) family members, each with a unique user ID. No matter where you live, if you are affected by a loved one's addiction or experimentation with drugs and alcohol, the BALM Comprehensive can help you!

INFORMATION - THE DAILY BALM COURSE
These are the 12 Principles you incorporate into your life on a daily basis, learning them from group calls, recordings and online materials.
Included are:
* weekly recorded lessons on the BALM Family Recovery Principles
* a library of 120+ recordings of earlier BALM interview calls to access 24/7 (interviews with experts in the fields of addiction, recovery and self-care; individuals in long-term recovery; and family members in recovery)
* workbook for each lesson
* Powerpoint for each lesson
PLUS:
* Weekly live calls every Wednesday evening featuring a panel of coaches. These calls include discussions, speakers and experts interviews. As a class participant, you are encouraged to join in. Afterward, the recording will be archived in the Daily BALM library.
TRANSFORMATION - THE 7 STEPS TO BALM
BALM is the acronym for Be A Loving Mirror, the signature program of Family Recovery Resources. This is an eight-week course, offered throughout the year, which helps you communicate in a respectful, loving way, in spite of your loved one's crazy-making behaviors.
What is a BALM Conversation?
* a mini-intervention you can have with your loved one
* a 7-step process that transforms conversations and turns chaos to sanity
* a method to bring calm, clarity and sanity into the relationship
During the class you will:
* learn the steps of the method * hear demonstrations of the BALM Conversation method * practice with a partner during the class |
In between classes you will:
* work with a buddy on the phone * practice with family and/or friends * review the elements of each step with online materials |
This is the time to learn tools to help you lovingly get your life back as you help your struggling loved one most effectively.
SUPPORT - WEEKLY GROUP COACHING CALLS
There are weekly opportunities to work with a coach in a small group setting. Each week, participants bring current issues they would like to approach using the BALM method. The coach introduces tools, exercises and insights to provide BALM families with additional opportunities to grow their family recovery. And remember, this is open to up to four members of your family.
